After six months of marriage, Chicago White Sox pitcher Michael Kopech and his wife, Riverdale star Vanessa Morgan has announced that they are going to get separated. Fans of the couple are in shock as Kopech has filed for divorce only a few days after the announcement by Morgan that she is pregnant.
Kopech, 24 years old, has filed for divorce in his home state Texas on June, but the spokes persons of both the celebrities refused to comment about the same. Hence, Morgan’s representative confirmed that Kopech is the father of Morgan’s baby on the way, but the couple has been staying separately since a few months.
It was in June 2018 that the couple met for the first time, which was through the direct message facility on Instagram. Since then, they started dating, and there were a lot of rumours about their relationship, which was later confirmed by Kopech himself. He posted a picture of them hugging each other, and wrote a loving note for Morgan too. He admitted that it was Morgan who stayed with him in his bad days, and motivated him a lot. Later in July 2019, he proposed her during a camping trip to Havasu Falls, Arizona.
The couple got married on 4th January 2020, six months after their engagement at Arizona. It was a private function, with invitation given to all the friends and family of the groom and bride. They planned their wedding according to the theme ‘Modern Day Tarzan and Jane’, which took part in the Historic Walton House in Florida. The duo wanted nature to be with them on the special day, and therefore, choose the Walton House Estate, which is kind of estate based place. Morgan expressed her happiness of getting married in an interview by saying that it was like a fairy tale.
Vanessa Morgan, who stars as Toni Topas on the CW show Riverdale, had revealed that she is pregnant with a baby boy, and shared the pictures of her baby’s gender reveal party. However, she didn’t mentioned her husband Kopech in any of the pictures or posts. And she managed to avoid the questions about his absence in the party with much difficulty.
It was only one week after her party that Kopech went forward with his divorce petition. After knowing about the news, the online media got divided into two sides, one side argued that Kopech has cheated on Morgan, and the other side states that Morgan might have cheated Kopech. The real reason behind Kopech’s filing for divorce is unknown, and both the parties in the case has not made any comments regarding the same.
In mid-August, Morgan posted the sonogram picture of her son’s foot, and has commented on the same that ‘he is a kicker’. The love and hope that Morgan has towards her child is clearly evident from her recent posts.
Before dating Kopech, Morgan was in a relationship with NHL player Nathan MacKinnon, from 2014 to 2016, and also Degrassi, in year 2008.
