It was a shock for the fans of Ray J and Princess Love that the couple is going to separate, as Ray J has filed for divorce from Love. He filed the case two months after Love withdrawed her plea of divorce from Ray J. The reason for the couple’s decision is not clear, but Ray J stated that he wants everyone happy, and that’s why is going forward with the case. The couple, sharing two kids, nine month old son Epik Ray, and two year old daughter Melody Love, has decided to end their four years of marriage life all of a sudden.
In May 2020, nine months after the birth of their second child, Princess Love, the renowned fashion designer filed for divorce in court, which lead to a lot of media speculation. She did not revealed anything about the filing in court, but there were reports that she was sad about the behavior of her husband. Last November, she stated that, she didn’t “want to be married anymore”, as Ray J left her and daughter Melody “stranded” in Las Vegas during a vacation trip.
Even though Ray J admits that he was not able to spend quality time with his wife and kids, he denied Love’s allegations about leaving them alone in Vegas. He denied the arguments by saying that he is “done with Vegas” and just want to spend time with his family.
Two months after the filing for divorce in the court, Love requested for dismissal of the same, which lead to the rumors that the duo has reconciled. It became evident as Ray J shared a touching tribute in social media for Love’s birthday. The couple celebrated the birthday along with their kids, and shared photos of the happy family in social media accounts like Instagram and Facebook too.
Later in September 2020, Ray J went forward to file for divorce in court, giving the explanation that he wants “everyone to be happy.” He admitted that he didn’t get the time to sit back and think about the problems between them, but had to take a quick decision and therefore “went to God for help”.
The statement made by Ray J following the court matter points to Love moving out with someone new. He stated that he wants his kids and Princess to be in a great place mentally, and can enjoy their life. He added that “if there is somebody out there” with whom she wants to be with, he will be happy to agree with that.
Ray J, the American singer, songwriter, rapper, television personality, actor, and entrepreneur, starred along with Princess Love in the first season of Love & Hip Hop, the reality television franchise. There had problems in the initial days of their relationship itself, as Ray was controlling, possessive, and at the same time, preferring to enjoy his bachelor life at the extreme. Later in 2016, they got married at Los Angeles’ Cathedral.
The couple had attempted one final resolution through an on-camera therapy called The Conversation, in which Love admitted that she has lost respect for her husband. Yet, they agreed to remain separate, but will focus on con-parenting.
