Powers Boothe


Powers Allen Boothe, the American television, video game, film actor and voice actor, was born on 1st June 1948, at Texas, U.S. He is the son of Merrill Vestal Boothe, a rancher, and Emily Boothe. He graduated in BA from southwest Texas State University, and in MA from Southern Methodist University. He joined the repertory company of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, in which he played roles in Henry IV, Troilus and Cressida, and others. He debuted in Broadway theatre in 1979 in Lone Star. The program that made him popular for the first time is the CBS-TV movie Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Hones, for which he received the Emmy Award, beating veterans of television movies.

He played notable roles in films and series including Southern Comfort, A Breed Apart, Red Dawn, Attila, Deadwood, Sin City, and its sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Justice League and its sequel, The Avengers, and Nashville. He has also voiced for the villain, Kane in the video game Turok, and for Benjamin Travis in Hitman: Absolution.

The legendary actor died in Los Angeles on 14th May 2017, due to Pancreatic Cancer. He was buried in Deadwood, near Texas.

He was married to Pamela Cole in 1969. They studied together in the Texas State University, where they studied for BA Degree. When asked about his married life, his reply was, “We were friends before all this acting stuff happened. To me, the relationship is a success not because of what happens in good times, but how you get through the bad times. When you pull through things and show your trust and mettle and dependency on each other, you’re so much stronger. I can’t imagine life without her.”

This statement shows the love of Boothe towards his wife, Pamela Cole.

There are no much references regarding the hobbies of Powers Boothe. He considered acting as his number on hobby. He was also talented in sports activities. He used to play basketball in his college time, and later it become an activity of time-pass.
