Kathleen Mary Griffin, the American comedian and actress, was born on 4th November 1960, at Illinois, U.S. She is the daughter of Mary Margaret “Maggie” Griffin, and John Patrick Griffin. She developed the passion of acting in her senior years.
Her first appearance on-screen was as an extra for a Chicago White Sox commercial. She began performing stand-up comedy in 1980s in an improvisational comedy troupe called The Groundlings. Later, she got several chances in television to perform stand-up comedy. Her debut in television sitcom was as Susan Klein, in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

She has used the Palin family as a material for her comedy routines several times.
She is a supporter of the LGBT community, and also supports same-sex marriage. Her mother Mary, is also an active supporter of the movement and has participated along with Griffin in several protests. She is a long-time supporter of the Aid for AIDS annual fundraiser program too.

Griffin and her husband Matt Moline got divorced in 2006, and she mad accusations that he stole USD 72000 from her, on which the only reaction Moline made was that he is saddened by it.
She started dating Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak in 2007, and the couple confirmed about their relationship in February 2008. They appeared together in several occasions including the Humane Society of Silicon Valley Fur Ball on April 2008. Later in June 2008, they broke up.
She has once admitted that she was in a relationship with her tour manager. In 2012, she started dating marketing executive Randy Bick, and got married on January 2020.
