Colin James Farrell, the Irish actor was born on 31st May 1976, at Castleknock, Ireland. He is the son of Rita and Eamon Farrell, who was a football player and owner of a health food shop. He was inspired by the performance of Henry Thomas in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial movie, which moved him to tears.
Farrell’s on-screen debut was through the BBC drama Ballykissangel in 1998. He also appeared in Falling for a Dancer, the 1999 show. He made his film debut through The War Zone, directional debut of English actor Tim Roth. His performance in the 2002-2003 films Phone Booth, The Recruit, and S.W.A.T. received wide political acclaim. These three films were great box office successes too.
