Ricky Whittle


Richard Whittle, the English actor, was born on 31st December 1981, at Greater Manchester, England. He is the son of Harry Whittle and Maggie Whittle. He studied law and started modelling in between that.

He got popular after becoming the face of Reebok in the year 2000. Later in 2002, he had his on-screen debut through the series Dream Team. He rose to prominence with the role of Calvin Valentine in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks in 2006. He appeared in the feature film Austenland in 2012, after arriving at the U.S. 

He did notable roles in Single Ladies, Mistresses, The 100, American Gods, etc.

His mother is from England and his father is from Jamaica. According to his religion, Whittle is Christian. The English actor is not so expressive about his religious beliefs. It is not known whether he follows his faith or he is non-religious.

The American Gods actor has not stated anything much regarding his views on political issues. He usually stays away from the controversies. 

In an interview based on the series American Gods, Whittle has said that American Gods is very relevant in the era of Donald Trump. The series deals with issues like immigration, sexism, racism and homophobia. 

Whittle says that the immigration policies by Trump are ridiculous. America being a great country is because immigrants from various parts of the world are coming here and blessing the country. 


Who is he dating?

He was rumoured to be in a relationship with the Australian ballroom dancer Natalie Lowe in 2009. He was dating the English actress Carley Stenson from 2007 to 2011. Later in 2012, he dated Jessica Szohr, the American actress. It is rumoured that Whittle was in a relationship with Rumer Willis and Kirstina Colonna in 2014 and 2015 respectively. 

Currently, Whittle is assumed to be single. 


Ricky Whittle Hobbies

Whittle has not revealed much about his hobbies and interests. Yet it is known that he likes playing musical instruments. Also, he was the football team coach during his college years at the Southampton Solent University. It shows that he has great interest in sports, maybe football the most. 

He is a kind of exercise addict. Whittle likes to work out when he has free time or as a part of his daily routine. He regularly works out and inspires others too to exercise.

    • Whittle’s family moved to a different country every two or three years, since his father was in the Royal Air Force. 

    • He started modelling in college in order to pay for textbooks. 

    • He appeared as a contestant on the BBC One reality series Strictly Come Dancing and got the second place. He was paired with Australian professional dancer Natalie Lowe. 

    • Whittle got severely injured during a charity football match in 2004, and the initial report was that he won’t be able to walk afterwards. But got recovered soon with effective rehabilitation. 

    • He got nominated for the Sexiest Male Category in the British Soap Awards for two consecutive years.
