He is the son of Joe Hasselhoff and Dolores Hasselhoff. He played the characters of Dr. Shapper Foster in the American television soap opera The Young and The Restless from 1975 to 1982, Michael Knight in Knight Rider from 1982 to 1986, and L.A County Lifeguard Mitch Buchannon in Baywatch from 1989 to 2000. He also produced Baywatch from 1990 to 2001. He starred in many other TV shows and movies such as America's Got Talent, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Dancing with the Stars, Anaconda 3: Offspring, and Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. to mention just a few of them.
