Amy Brenneman


Amy Brenneman is an American actress. Besides, she is also a writer and a producer. She was born on 22nd June, 1964 in New London, Connecticut, United States. She is the daughter of lawyer Russell Langdon Brenneman, Jr and judge Frederica Joanne Shoanfield. She got well known for her role of Detective Janice Licalsi in the ABC police drama series NYPD Blue from 1993 to 1994. This brought her nomination for two Primetime Emmy Awards. She achieved further fame for starring in many other TV shows and movies such as The Jane Austen Book Club, Private Practice, Things You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her, Reign, Off the Map, and Judging Amy, to mention only a few of them. She got nominated and won several awards for her performances such as TV Guide Award, Women in Film Lucy Award, and Locarno International Film Festival Award.

She has once stated in an interview that she goes to an Episcopalian church and she is also half-Jewish. Moreover, she strongly supports stricter gun laws and even held the Target for a Safe America gala at the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles for the Brady Center to stop gun violence.
