Kobe Bryant Divorce
When it comes to Basketball, Kobe Bryant is one of the few names almost everyone’s heard of. Entering the NBA right after high school, he has had a baffling career with massive success. Kobe is married to Vanessa Marie bryant and they have three daughters together.
In 1999, 21-year-old Bryant who was working on his debut music album met 17-year-old Vanessa Laine while she was working as a background dancer on the Tha Eastsidaz music video "G'd Up”. The two began dating and got engaged by May 2000.
The couple got married on April 18, 2001, at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Dana Point, California. The wedding was not attended by Bryant's parents, his two sisters, his longtime advisor and agent Arn Tellem, or his Laker teammates. Bryant's parents were opposed to the marriage for numerous reasons. Back then, it was reported that Bryant's parents had problems with him marrying so young, especially to a woman who was not African-American. This disagreement resulted in an estrangement period of over two years, which ended when the couple's first daughter was born named Natalia Diamante Bryant born in 2003. Due to an ectopic pregnancy, Vanessa suffered a miscarriage in the spring of 2005. Later the couple welcomed two more daughters Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant (born in 2006) and Bianka (born in 2016).
Unfortunately in December of 2011, Vanessa filed for a divorce citing irreconcilable differences. Unnamed sources told celebrity news website TMZ that Vanessa Bryant was filing for divorce because she believed her husband had been unfaithful again. "She’s been dealing with these incidents for a long time and has been a faithful wife, but she’s finally had enough," one source said. "This one is the straw that broke the camel’s back.”
In January 2013, she announced on Instagram the divorce had been called off. Bryant confirmed the same on Facebook. Also, When Bryant announced in November his plans to retire, Vanessa released a brief statement herself. ”I'm so excited to see what God has in store for us as a family now that one chapter is closing and new ones are opening," she wrote.
