Al Gore Divorce
Al Gore, known for being an environmentalist and the 45th vice president of the United States, shocked everyone when he announced the sad news of his divorce. He was married to Tipper gore who was American author, photographer, and social issues advocate who served as Second Lady of the United States when Al was the vice president.
Gore met Mary Elizabeth "Tipper" Aitcheson (b. 1948) at his St. Albans senior prom in 1965. She was from the nearby St. Agnes School. Tipper followed Gore to Boston to attend college, and they married at the Washington National Cathedral on May 19, 1970. But over the course of the previous decade the couple went from loving "with my whole heart since the night of my high school senior prom," as Al Gore put it, to having "decided to separate," as they said in a statement Tuesday. "We are announcing today that after a great deal of thought and discussion, we have decided to separate," the Gores said in an emailed statement. "This is very much a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration. We ask for respect for our privacy and that of our family, and we do not intend to comment further.”
Although Sources, close to the couple, said infidelity was not the reason for the divorce. It was reported that Al Gore's 40-year marriage crumbled because of his wife's jealous rages that he was allegedly having an affair. The former US presidential candidate separated from Tipper because she suspected he was sleeping with a string of glamorous women. Rather than her ending the relationship as previously thought, it was he who brought things to an end, according to reports. While there's never been proof that Al had affairs, Tipper allowed herself to suspect the worse,' a source told an American newspaper. 'I think she's always believed there was something going on between Al and many of the women in his life,’ The source added.
Al Gore, though not divorced from wife Tipper, confirmed he is indeed dating environmental activist Elizabeth Keadle. The 69-year-old Gore was seen at a film festival with his girlfriend, about whom not too much is known except that she’s independently wealthy. Later he confirmed this news himself, "I don't want to get into my personal life, but we're a couple," the former presidential candidate told in an interview.
With Tipper Al have four children- Karenna Gore (b. 1973), Kristin Carlson Gore (b. 1977), Sarah LaFon Gore (b. 1979), and Albert Arnold Gore III (b. 1982).
