Yetide Badaki


Yetide is a Nigerian-born American actress. Some of her best-known television series performances have been in Lost, Criminal Minds, Sequestered, Masters of Sex, NCIS: New Orleans, Aquarius, K.C.Undercover, and most popularly as Bilquis in American Gods. Badaki has also worked in two movies Expiration and Cardinal X. She received a Jeff Award nomination for the I Have Before Me A Remarkable Document Given To Me By A Young Lady From Rwanda. American Gods has been a much-talked-about show with exotic scenes and her character being strongly powerful.

Yetide has recently been alloted the citizenship of the United States ans she probably is grateful towards that. Not a native American and having stayed in England and Canada as well, her political opinions have not been much of relevance as of now. In future, we can look forward to her political ideologies as she proves her mettle and prowess in Hollywood.

Badaki has a degree of Master of Fine Arts in Theatre from Illinois State University. This shows her passion for fine arts. She also has a graduate degree in English literature and Environmental Science from McGill University.

Officially, she became the citizen of United States in 2014. 

Her family fiercely opposed to her getting into this acting career. 

Badaki admits to be returned back home thrice, and that it was depressing as she had lost jobs too. She soon earned a scholarship to Illinois State.

Her name Yetide means "Mother is Back".

She has been reported saying that moving into a different culture and place has been challenging, to HarperBazaar magazine.
