Nikolaj Coster Waldau is a Danish actor, producer and screen writer who was born on 27th July, 1970 at Rudkobing, Denmark. Denmark, the son of Hanne Søborg Coster,a librarian and Jørgen Oscar Fritzer Waldau (died 1998). He has spoken in interviews about his father's problems with alcohol, as well as his parents' divorce.He got critical recognition from Night watch in 1994. Since then he has appeared in numerous films in his native Scandinavia and Europe in general, including headhunters in 2011 and A Thosand Times Good Night in 2013. In USA he made his debut with film Black Hawk Down in 2001. He also acted in New Amsterdam in 2008. He became widely known to a broad audience for his current role as Ser Jaie Lannister in HBO's Game of Thrones.
