Judi Dench



Dame Judi Olivia Dench was born on the 9th of December 1934. She is an English actress and author famous for work in movies like Licence to Kill, Golden Eye, Casino Royale, The Importance of Being Earnest, Die Another Day, The Chronicles of Riddick, Pride and Prejudice, Quantum of Solace, My Week with Marilyn and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. She started her career by performing on stage for Shakespeare’s various plays like Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet and Macbeth. She is one of the most respected actresses and has received various awards for her brilliant work on screen. She was last seen in the 2016 movie Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. She has finished shooting for her next films Tulip Fever, Victoria and Abdul and Murder on the Orient.

Judi is a Quaker, the ones who believe in the holy trinity of the father, the son and the holy-spirit but they do not celebrate Christmas. Quakers believe that the events celebrated in these festivals like resurrection and the incarnation must be remembered throughout the year. They believe in the simplicity in daily life and in worship and their service contains of silent meditation. She believes that being a Quaker has helped achieve everything she has in life and is very dedicated to her faith.

Judi has worked with non- governmental organizations, campaigning in the defence of the tribal people to end tyranny, greed and racism. She also supports a charity that works amongst some of India’s poorest and oppressed people called the Karuna Trust. She also worked with a national charity that provides accessible holidays for those with disabilities and also urged the policy makers to adopt more progressive drug policies. She was also one of the 200 celebrities to sign on an open letter to the people of Scotland, asking them to vote No to independence before the Scottish referendum. From all this, it is clear that Judi is involved in and well aware about the political events and strives to make things better in the world.

Who is he/she dating?

Judi was married to the British actor Michael Williams on the 5th of February 1971 and the couple had their first and only child, Finty Williams. She has one grandchild named Sam Williams born in 1997, son of Finty Williams. Michael Williams passed away in 2001 from lung cancer at the age of 65. Judi has been dating the conservationist David Mills for seven years now since 2010.

Judi likes to knitting in her free time. She knits even while shooting and makes beautiful needlework embroideries. These are really beautiful intricate ornate work but with these really cool lines which she gives people as presents. She loves watching plays and encourages people to act in plays or to learn the art of theatre.

She made history in 1996, for being the first one to win two Laurence Oliver Awards for different roles.

Judi owns a racehorse along with a dog, 4 cats, 2 guinea pigs and some fish.
