Robert John Downey Jr. was born on April 4, 1965, to the well-known writer, director, and filmmaker, Robert Downey Sr. in Manhattan, New York. Downey began his acting career when he was only 5 and acted as a child star in his father's movies. The actor has now become probably the most respected actor in Hollywood right now and is no doubt one of the most, highest paid actors of the industry. Downey has been a part of some great movies including the Marvel Studios' Iron Man series and other movies from the same studio performing the same role as a lead character or as a cameo. He has spent over four decades in the industry yet he looks as fresh as anyone.

Probably the most notable hobby of Rober Downey Jr. is to practice Wing Chun Kung Fu. He practices it pretty often and claims that it not only makes him stronger but also feel more at ease. Although not so regularly but he likes to sing. He has sung different songs in some of his movies as well and also has a heart for painting and likes to spend his leisure time painting different things or even people.

The actor has been involved in serious allegations of substance abuse and has embraced the allegations. The court filed charges of substances abuse and alcohol addiction and sentenced him to a rehab state penitentiary. He spent a considerable amount of time there and his time in the prison brought a lot of changes in his personality.
